+ About the MirYam Institute

The MirYam Institute was established as a forum for leading Israeli experts of diverse and varied perspectives.

Here, they come together to share their expertise and to exchange their opinions about the state of Israel.

They do so for the consideration of our readership, listeners and viewers overseas, by way of online content and in-person presentations, lectures, debates and events.

The MirYam institute champions rigorous debate about Israel, led first and foremost by Israelis who hold diverse opinions; but who are all unified by their dedication to the continuing flourishing of our country as a Jewish and democratic state.

We believe in robust debate across a range of topics, but the institute eschews any debate about Israel's right to exist, or the rights of her citizens to chart their own future, according to their own vision.

It is our assertion that the global discussion about Israel must be informed, steered and led by Israeli voices.

As has been the case until now, the people of Israel remain uniquely able and qualified to implement the boldest of policies, and to make the toughest of choices and sacrificies, in order to safeguard the future of the one and only Jewish state. So shall they continue to do.

For that reason, the credo of our institute is 'Israel's Future in Israel's Hands.'

The fashioning of that future must not be outsourced to any third party, and the tremendous achievements of the country in which we live must not be overlooked as we assess how best to tackle that which is yet to be achieved.

The MirYam Institute focuses upon the following initiatives:

+ MirYam's Campus

This branch of our work convenes Israel focused presentations, seminars and debates on campus, particularly at the elite, graduate level, at universities throughout the english speaking world, each semester.

We recognize that the students of today will be the policy makers of tomorrow. We view campuses as the most appropriate and impactful laboratory of thought on all matters Israel.

+ MirYam's Policy

Through this branch of our work we regularly brief elected officials on matters of national security significance to the state of Israel and her relationship within the community of nations.

+ MirYam's Israel

Believing that Israel is her own finest ambassador, the MirYam Institute generates two types of tours to the state of Israel for two specific categories of elite students who we assess as likely to have a direct impact upon the policy discourse about Israel, far beyond their university careers.

  • The I-LAP tour (Israel Law & Policy) brings exceptional graduate and PhD students to Israel for a ten day, policy focused tour of the country.
  • The ISAP tour (Israel Strategy & Policy) brings cadets from U.S Military Academies, all of whom will serve as officers in the US Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps, to Poland for a two day tour of the death camps, followed by a 12 day strategy and policy focused tour of Israel.

+ MirYam's Commentary

Through this branch of our work we provide top-tier analysis, commentary and expertise by way of position papers, opinion pieces and briefs, all of which are penned by Israelis selected as a result of their exceptional, real life, professional experience in Israeli policy making and policy implementation.

+ MirYam's Community

By bringing Israeli expertise to the international discourse about Israel, we facilitate constructive, candid discussion, dialogue and debate about the state of Israel for communities overseas.
