TOURS

I-SAP is undertaken in proud partnership with the following institutions

I-SAP cadets are briefed by elected officials, generals, ambassadors, media analysts, jurists, ministers and more as they learn about Israel, its place among the nations, and its relationship with the United States.

I-SAP is designed to be an experience that will escort participants throughout their military careers and beyond.

Unique follow-up opportunities for tour graduates result in an ongoing engagement with the state of Israel.

+About I-SAP Active

The I-SAP Active Tour brings active, serving officers of the U.S. Army to Israel for a ten-day, deep dive into Israel’s strategic and policy considerations.

Participants hold ranks ranging from Major to Colonel. The majority of the participants have undertaken previous oversees deployments and will continue on in command positions beyond the conclusion of the tour.

+About I-SAP

The Israel Strategy & Policy tour (I-SAP) is a unique program, exclusive to the MirYam Institute. Tailored for future officers of the U.S. Armed Forces, currently enrolled in U.S. military academies, I-SAP brings cadets of the US Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps on a two day visit to Poland where they visit sites including the Warsaw Ghetto and Auschwitz-Birkenau. Immediately thereafter, I-SAP delegates travel onwards to Israel for a 12 day tour that criss-crosses the entire country.

+see what military cadets say about i-sap

"This is one of the best experiences I have ever had…Visiting the places I have read about was absolutely mind-blowing. Israel is a paradise in the desert. The trip was amazing, and I would love the chance to visit again."

Cadet Patrick, Virginia Military Institute Class of 2025

"I could not fully appreciate the complexity of Israel's problems nor the reality of the situation without seeing and experiencing the state for myself. The plethora of amazing speakers helped build a deeper understanding of the Jewish people and what it exactly means to be an Israeli. The patriotism, the passion, the determination, and the gifts that the Israeli people have to offer are inspiring, and I will carry these stories with me through my service in the Air Force."

Cadet Cassidy, Virginia Military Institute Class of 2023

"This trip was an excellent educational experience for me. It offered an insight into the area and the politics that very few people will ever get. It was an extremely immersive and educational experience that will undoubtedly lead me to a much more informed life in the future as an officer in the United States Military."

Cadet Alan, Virginia Military Institute Class of 2023

"Overall, the trip was very impactful. I believe it is of great value to anyone who has any interest in Israel or those who are skeptical of Israel and would like to see what the situation is really like on the ground."

2d Lt Sean, VMI

"The trip was very valuable to my religious development because of the many visits to religious sites and places where events took place in the bible. I also valued this trip in that it allowed me to create relationships with cadets from other academies. My views on leadership were also broadened from this experience because of the many leaders who spoke to us."

Cadet Ian, Virginia Military Institute Class of 2025

"I believe that this experience will allow me to perform as a leader to a greater degree, having a more expansive understanding of cultural differences and the imminent threats that our allies face. I believe that ISAP was an incredible success, and I can guarantee that the impact of the trip will be seen through my efforts in the future as I work within the military."

Cadet Russell, VMI Class 2024

"There are so many parts of the trip I enjoyed, that could be considered my favorite part. Listening to Netanyahu speak ranks at the top. As a Christian, walking Jesus' path to the cross and visiting where he was crucified, where he performed the miracle of two fish and five loaves of bread, and where he walked on the Sea of Galilee ranks high too. But truthfully, the most impactful was touring the Yad Vashem Holocaust Museum and listening to one of the last few survivors of the Holocaust. Seeing 'man's inhumanity to man' and listening to the survivor's testimony was very sobering. It was a horrifying reminder of how cruel mankind can be; what can happen if good people stand by and allow evil to happen."

Sergeant Major W.

"This wonderful trip allowed me to broaden my knowledge of the Middle East. With the numerous briefs and meetings that we attended, I really got to understand more in depth the Israeli-Palestinian issue, at the same time as enjoying the wonders of Israel!"

"The people who are trying to destroy Israel are right in Israel's back yard. There are real threats that need to be taken care of."

- Kaitlyn, U.S. Air Force Academy

Stefan.jpg

"I have learned more about Israel in two weeks than I learned in an entire semester. We visited sites that we only heard about in our history books."

- Stefan, Virginia Military Institute

Travis.jpg

"The triumph of Israel is that there are many threats but people continue to live their lives. That's really inspiring. Every Israeli soldier had a deep need to serve.”

- Travis, U.S. Military Academy, West Point
