Brigadier-General Ben-Meir served in the Israel Defense Forces for over 30 years, retiring as the Commander and Chief-of-Staff of the Israeli intelligence corps. His service yielded military outcomes of direct, historical significance to the State of Israel on multiple occasions. As the Chief of the Intelligence Corps, Ben-Meir managed the entire intelligence layout of the IDF. In that capacity, he provided intelligence updates to the highest ranks of the IDF and Government officials and also managed the technological unit of the Corps. He served as Head of the Research and Analysis Division and also as the military intelligence attaché to the United States in Washington, DC. He built strong ties with US military leaders, intelligence agencies and other government bodies in the United States and in Canada during the course of his extensive service.
